Disney's Yacht Club Resort
/Disney's Yacht Club Resort
Welcome to my first travel review! Having just returned from an amazing trip to the USA, what better place to start, than with the first leg of my adventures across the pond.
First stop on my recent 16 day trip was Orlando, Florida. Marking my second trip there in as many years where I spent 7 days in the Magical Walt Disney World staying in Disney's Yacht Club Resort.
Disney's Yacht Club Resort
Situated right on Disney's Boardwalk, the Yacht Club is perfectly placed for easy access into two of of the Disney Parks, being 5 minutes walk from Epcot and 20 from Hollywood Studios. Although walking is convenient for both, they are also accessible via boat and bus from the Yacht Club. The transport across Disney is so good, with a choice of buses, boats and monorails being available to get you anywhere on the property quickly and easily.
The Yacht Club is one of Disney's Deluxe Resorts, which really shows with the theming, quality and general feel inside and out. You are greeted on arrival to the Yacht Club by a very nautical lobby, with an impressive Globe centre piece that immediately shines of quality.

The check-in process was great with a friendly cast member talking us through the amenities and ways to get to the Parks etc. Soon we're on our way to our home for the next week, room 3054. We opted for a garden view room, and were pleasantly surprised by the small, quiet pool we could see from our balcony (just out of shot to the left, on the photo below).
The View From Room 3054
The room was quiet, comfortable and practical, having plenty of space for relaxing, storage and suncream application (thanks to the large open-plan washing area with his and hers sinks)! The Safe in the room was useful for small items like jewellery or cash, but unfortunately not really deep enough for anything larger such as camera equipment or laptops etc, however we didn't feel this was a problem as this resort felt very safe and secure.
The Yacht Club Resort has so many great qualities but one of it's best has to be its famous Yachtsman Steakhouse!

The Yachtsman Steakhouse Menu
This was our second visit to the Yachtsman Steakhouse and as before, it did not disappoint. This visit actually confirmed that the 32oz Porterhouse Steak is the best steak I have ever eaten (and that's a very bold statement). The service was second to none, with very knowledgable waiting staff along with extremely tasty side dishes to accompany the great steaks on offer from the onsite butcher! Our meal here was the culinary highlight of our 7 days in Disney, fighting off strong competition from restaurants such as ; Be Our Guest (Magic Kingdom) and Teppan Edo (Epcot).

All of this great food was served in a lovely, warm environment that really highlights the quality of this restaurant and although the Yachtsman is one of the most expensive places to eat at Disney World, you will not regret spending a little extra as this place is a real treat to top off your holiday!

The public and surrounding areas of the Yacht Club are some of my favourite things about this Resort. Pristinely kept gardens, pool areas and the Boardwalk make for pleasant evening strolls around the complex. Being based on the Boardwalk allows you to wander to many of the different restaurants, bars and bakeries to either enjoy a light morning breakfast overlooking the lake, or to relax on the private beach swings of an evening after a hard day in the parks.

In summary, the Yacht Club Resort is a great place to stay if you are visiting Disney World. Perfect location for easy access to all the parks with amazing food on offer, a standard of cleanliness and friendliness Disney should be proud of, topped off by being able to provide a warm, well themed and relaxing environment especially for adult Disney goers.
The Yacht Club Resort is definitely Jack-Approved.
