The Ritz-Carlton, Naples

The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida was my first visit to both the area and chain of hotels. Having driven down from Orlando, the welcome that the resort provides is one of luxury with many fountains, well trimmed lawns and posh cars lining the valet parking.

View of the Ritz-Carlton

This resort is one of two in Naples, Florida. The other being the Ritz-Carlton Beach Resort approximately 15 mins drive away. The Golf Resort is the quieter of the two but having the advantage of it's sister hotels facilities being available to all with even a shuttle bus linking them.

"A nice extra touch are the bottles of branded ice water every time you leave the hotel along with sun screen in varying factors."

The interior of the Ritz-Carlton appears to be split into two levels, the Lobby and the rest of the hotel. The corridors and the rooms seem newly renovated, with light, airy decor and tasteful art on the walls. The rooms are refined and classy with amazing views over the golf course.

Unfortunately the Lobby didn't live up to the same quality as the room, being very dark and feeling a little old and run down. This maybe due to a pending renovation, but this isn't to say it isn't a very nice area, just that it could do with some new furniture and a little decoration. The Lobby at the Golf Course is in stark contrast to the Beach hotel, which dazzles on entry and shines of quality. The Golf Resort should take note...

Food

Breakfast consisted of a well put together buffet, including all the usual suspects (sausage, bacon, eggs, fruits etc.) with some special extras such as Eggs Benedict or omelettes to your taste, all of which were served by friendly waiting staff.

There's also plenty of options for lunch, but we opted for some spicy chicken wings by the pool for our mid-afternoon snack, which were very tasty!

Given the number of amazing restaurants in the local area we found it difficult to find time to eat in the Hotel. Breakfast and Lunch were all we managed on this visit, however given the quality of these two meals I'm sure dinner would be just as good!

The Verdict?

Overall we had a very pleasant stay at the Ritz-Carlton in Naples. It was excellently situated, with local shopping malls close by and the old town of Naples itself within a short drive. The Hotel on the whole was beautiful with amazing views, staff and facilities (especially if you are into Golf). The Valet parking was also great at both resorts making you feel very welcome when returning to the hotels after a day out exploring.

Naples is a beautiful part of Florida with a very relaxed atmosphere. With a clearly a very affluent population it isn't a surprise to see excellent restaurants and shopping malls and general upkeep of the town when you are not relaxing by the pool.

The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort is Jack-Approved.
