Bellagio, Las Vegas
/This review comes a little late in the day since it has been 6 months since visiting the amazing Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.
Bellagio, Las Vegas
After spending 4 nights here in May 2016 and exploring many of the other hotels on the strip, it soon became clear that this was one of the jewels of Vegas. It may not be the newest or the most modern hotel here, but it has a class that sets it above and beyond for me.
One of my favourite films is Oceans Eleven, so obviously standing watching the fountains like George Clooney and Brad Pitt at the end of the movie was something I just had to do.
The Room
The Fountain View Resort King room was modern, clean and well designed. A large main bedroom, with a substantial bathroom comprising of a separate bath and walk in shower make for somewhere to recharge after the mayhem of Vegas.

The best part of the room however was definitely the view!
View from the room
With electronic blinds that you can open from your bedside and be greeted by the incredible dancing fountains (and if you tune your tv to the correct channel, it pumps the music from down on the ground into your room), it is certainly one of the more special places to wake up.

The Rest of the Hotel
The first thing to marvel at on entering the hotel is the incredible 'Fiori di Como' by Dale Chihuly's, composed of over 2,000 hand-blown glass flowers that covers 2,000 sq ft (190 m2) of the lobby ceiling!

Moving through the Bellagio you are faced with more art work. At the Bellagio Arcadia there is a changing display each season which in May 2016 was an 'Under the Sea' theme filling the 14,000 sq ft area!

The shops in the Bellagio are amazing. Top designers such as Chanel, Dior, Giorgio Armani & Valentino to name a few are there to tempt you into spending your winnings! The shopping areas themselves are extremely well appointed, clean and stylish which matches the whole Bellagio experience.

The Verdict
The Bellagio Hotel was perfectly placed on the strip, being very central all the top hotels were within walking distance, with Caesars Palace, the Cosmopolitan, Aria and the Venetian being on your doorstep. The fountains were incredible and it doesn't matter how many times you walk past them, you just have to stand and watch every time. I'd also thoroughly recommend heading over to the Grand Canyon with Maverick Helicopters. This was possibly one of the greatest experiences of my life (which I may blog about separately), so I've included a couple of shots below as a teaser.
There was only one issue I had with the Bellagio, and unfortunately it is an issue not just with this hotel but all of them in Vegas, and that's the smoking policies. Smoking is allowed throughout the Casino, making it very smoggy and ruining the ambience. I understand the reasoning though, having smokers leave the Casino to do their business heightens the chances that they will spend their money elsewhere! However, separate smoking areas may be an idea.
Smoking aside, the Bellagio was a luxurious choice of hotel with plenty of great features. The room was classy with incredible views and the shopping was excellent. Based on this...
The Bellagio is Jack-Approved.
